Beaches in Naxos
Naxos has many beaches thanks to its long coastline. Organized with umbrellas or more secluded and deserted, with calm sea or with a wave for water sports, the island has beaches for all tastes!

Agios Georgios: The nearest beach in Chora (a few minutes walk). It is organized and has a wide sandy beach and shallow waters.
Plaka: Continuation of Agia Anna, the beach has white fine sand and large dunes that compose a magnificent setting. It has umbrellas and taverns.
Mikri Vigla: These are 2 beaches separated by a rock, Partheno and Limanaki. The first is suitable for windsurfing and kitesurfing due to the strong winds, while in the second you can enjoy your bath and sunbathing without air.
Kastraki: Large and quiet beach with white sand, ideal for relaxation and walking.
Aliko: Relatively small and secluded beach with white sand and clear blue waters, easily accessible by car. The beach itself has no shade, but just above there is a cedar forest.
Agiassos: Quiet and sandy with deep blue shallow waters, located at the southwestern tip of the island.
Panormos: A small cove at the southeastern tip of the island. The beach is windless with turquoise waters and white sand.
Naxos beach, turquoise waters, moored boats

Naxos offers a wide variety of activities, from visits to monuments and places of historical and archaeological interest to water sports and hiking trails, but also wonderful nights in the bars of the island.

Visit to the famous “Portara”, the huge marble gate of the temple of Apollo from the 6th c. e.g.
Walk on the picturesque cobbled streets of Chora. The Venetian castle, the medieval architecture, the mansions of the old nobles and the cobbled streets will take you to other times.
Evening excursions to the numerous bars and clubs of Chora.
Archaeological Museum of Naxos. Get to know the history of the island through the findings of the museum dating from the Neolithic to the Byzantine era.
Venetian Museum of Naxos. Furniture, weapons, costumes and useful objects give an idea of life in the “Duchy of the Aegean” during the Venetian occupation.
Visit to the Temple of Sangrio which dates back to the 6th c. e.g. and is a forerunner of classical Attic architecture and the Parthenon.
Sea sports. The large beaches make Naxos ideal for canoeing, kayaking, jet skiing and other water sports. There are also windsurfing, kitesurfing and diving centers on the island.
Hiking. Discover the hidden secrets of Naxos walking on the numerous marked paths of the island.
Naxos Town has all the amenities of a modern city: super market, banks, ATMs, pharmacies, post office, health center and numerous shops where you can get everything you need. Plenty of hotels and rooms for your stay are offered not only in Chora, but also in other villages of the island. There are also some organized campsites within walking distance of the port.

Naxos has a KTEL bus that runs many daily routes to nearby and further settlements as well as to the beaches of the island. There are also taxis, but their prices can be a bit higher. Due to the long distances we suggest you bring your car or motorcycle to the ship or rent there. You will find many gas stations in Chora and around it as well as in some main roads of the island

Welcome to the cosmopolitan of the Sporades, one of the most vibrant and youthful destinations in Greece. If your vacation wants to include dives on beautiful beaches, walks in picturesque alleys but also intense nightlife thus combining peace, tranquility and fun, then Skiathos is the destination you were looking for!

Hora_Skiathos_Vaggelis Belzenitis_510

The city of Skiathos, a modern resort with excellent tourist infrastructure, is the only settlement on the island. Located at the southeastern tip of the island in a sheltered bay that divides the island of Bourtzi in two, the settlement is relatively new since it was built around 1829-1830 on the site of the corresponding ancient city. A trademark has always been its large natural port, which regulated the life of the city in the past as well as in the newer years. Today it is primarily a yacht shelter, something that gives the island a strong cosmopolitan character. Walking in the settlement, the visitor is enchanted by the paved sidewalks, the whitewashed houses with tiles, the picturesque port secured by four green islands and the beautiful Bourtzi.

The most important sights of the city are:

• The house of the famous writer Alexandros Papadiamantis (who is honored on the island every year on January 2-3 and March 4) who was born and lived here.
• Bourtzi, the small verdant island with the ruins of a Venetian fortress and the neoclassical buildings of the old school that house the Cultural Center of Skiathos. This small peninsula, which divides the port of Skiathos in two, was formerly a fortress founded by the Gizi brothers, who occupied Skiathos in 1207. It was walled with ramparts and loopholes but was destroyed in 1660 when the island was occupied. Francis Morosini. Today, Bourtzi is a beautiful pine-covered recreation area with magnificent sea views.
• Around the middle of the 14th century, due to continuous pirate raids, the Skiathos were forced to leave the ancient city of Skiathos and establish their city in Kastro, a peninsula in the northern part of the island, which was a natural fortress. The Castle is today thanks to its wild natural beauty a stunning location that is definitely worth visiting!

The island is adorned with over 60 exquisite blue beaches – a beautiful crystal clear embrace that you will not be able to easily leave:

Koukounaries beach_Nikos Maheras

• The beach of Koukounaria at the southwestern tip of Skiathos – also known as “Golden Sand” since its sand shines all golden under the summer sun – is considered the third best in the Mediterranean. Apart from the clear blue, crystal clear waters, the beach is also famous for the forest of Koukounaries that reaches almost to the sea and the lagoon Strofilia (located inside it), a rare wetland, which is now a protected area. In Koukounaries you will find many accommodations (and campsites), as well as many taverns, ouzo and cafes, while you are also given the opportunity to do water sports, rent a boat or play tennis in one of the nearby hotels that have a similar stadium .
• Megali Ammos, just outside the city on the road to Koukounaries, and Achladies are organized beaches with crystal clear waters and picturesque ouzo.
• Banana (or Krassa bay) is a wonderful pine-covered beach that attracts many young people, as they are offered the opportunity to engage in water sports, while it has several taverns and cafes that organize fun parties!
• Right next door is the Little Banana which is more secluded and quiet (it once attracted strictly nudists). Like its big “sister”, the Little Banana is characterized by its turquoise shallow waters and pines that surround it.

If, however, you are looking for relaxing moments away from prying eyes, the beaches in the western part of the island are ideal: Mandraki, Elia, Agistros, Small and Big Moon with turquoise waters and golden sand.
• You can reach Aselinos by road, via a section of dirt road, or by boat.
• At the northeastern tip of the island is Lalaria beach, one of the most beautiful in Greece. All-white, steep cliffs rise majestically above the sea and the wind creates from them millions of years now, the all-round, white pebbles, the so-called “lalaria”, which cover the entire beach. The famous “Trypia Petra” always stands there, guard. You can reach “Lalaria” only by sea with boats that depart daily from the port of Skiathos, when the weather allows.

Lovers of nature and hiking can through 25 hiking trails with a total length of 197 km (with marked trails lasting 1 to 6 hours) to discover the unspoiled natural environment of the island, idyllic places that offer wonderful panoramic views of the island but also places ideal for relaxation or picnic. The route Aselinos-Moni Kounistra-Mikros Aselinos beach-Alygaries beach-Kechria beach is one of the most impressive on the island, while the route Agia Eleni-Kryfi Ammos and Mandraki-Elia-Agistro will reveal excellent beaches!

An island from the bowels of the earth

Santorini (or Thira) is located in the southernmost point of the Cyclades and is essentially a complex of islands consisting of the islands of Thira, Thirasia (or Thirasia), Aspronisi, Palea and Nea Kameni.

Did you know that the complex of the islands of Santorini is still an active volcano together with Milos, Methana and Nisyros? And probably the only volcano in the world whose crater is in the sea? This island complex was created precisely because of this intense volcanic activity and we would say that it really emerged from the bowels of the earth! Twelve massive eruptions, one every 20,000 years or so, have contributed to the creation of a caldera, tearing down much of the volcano, which it insists on being rebuilt over and over again.

Santorini is considered the pre-eminently romantic destination in Greece. After all, one often does not encounter white majestic states built on the edge of the cliff, with picturesque villages, cobbled alleys and impressive churches bathed in light ρω Couples in love flock every year to the volcanic island of Santorini. In fact, in recent years the island has been established as a destination chosen by couples to carry out their wedding ceremony or honeymoon.

The capital of the island is Fira. Built in the Caldera, 260 m above sea level, with a wonderful view of the clear blue waters of the Aegean and the island of Nea Kameni, they seem to be a breath away from the sky… Fira together with Firostefani, Imerovigli and Oia stretch along the Caldera enchanting the visitor, each in his own unique way. It should be noted here that the settlement of Oia is the first in Greece to be considered protected. Not coincidentally as it looks like a work of art carved into the rocks created by the volcanic lava… Other less famous but equally beautiful villages of the island worth visiting are Akrotiri and Mesa Vouno with their famous archeological sites, Pyrgos, K Emporio, Ammoudi, Finikia, Perissa, Perivolos, Megalochori, Kamari, Messaria and Monolithos. Some are more cosmopolitan, some quieter, others are surrounded by huge vineyards, others are dominated by tall castles with endless views of the Aegean but all have a special personality that will fascinate you.

Let us not forget to mention the wonderful beaches of the island that could not but harmonize with its special volcanic character. Dive into beaches with black, red and white sand or colorful pebbles and rocks carved by salt and wind. A unique setting that you will not find anywhere else in Greece…

So Santorini is waiting for you! It is certain that its intoxicating atmosphere where the blue of the Aegean mixes with the reddish of the rocks and the white of the houses will enchant you, making you look forward to returning to your “lost Atlantis”! Let the energy released by the volcanic landscape penetrate you and discover a special magic that really no image can immortalize.

Rome is the capital of Italy and is located in the central-western part of the Italian Peninsula, in the region of Lazio and along the river Tiber. It has received the nickname “Eternal City” from the fact that it has always been the capital and has never lost its title. This city perfectly connects the history of Roman history with the art of the Renaissance and the modern development of the city.

According to mythology, Romulus founded Rome in 753 BC. on the Palatine Hill. He then killed his brother Remus and became the first king of the city. Officially, according to the scientific community, the foundation of the city is placed in the 8th century BC. Rome then became the capital of the Roman Kingdom, the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire. During the years of the Roman Empire, Rome experienced great glory and development, as it was the capital of all of present-day Europe. With the transition to Christianity, the city gained even greater importance, as it is, to this day, the seat of the Catholic Church through the Vatican. From 1871 until today it is the capital of United Italy, while since 1981 it is a member of the European Union and is the fourth largest city in Europe.

Undoubtedly the most famous attraction in Rome is the Vatican, which is the seat of the Catholic Church and has been an independent state since 1929. There, you will find the famous Basilica of St. Peter, where you will see works by great artists. You will also see the famous Sistine Chapel. This small chapel has the frescoes “Genesis” and “Creation of Adam”, which was painted by Michael Angelos. In addition, the entire Vatican has many works of art and historical monuments, which take many hours to see. In addition, the Colosseum is another legendary landmark in Rome. From 80 AD in this place were fought duels between humans and beasts, until the 5th century when duels were considered forbidden. The impressive 50,000-seat amphitheater receives thousands of visitors daily. In the center of the city is the Trevi Fountain, which is the largest fountain in Italy and has been operating since 1762. The fountain is ornately decorated with statues of Poseidon and Triton. The custom is for those who visit the fountain to toss a coin with their back turned so that they can return to Rome again. Next, a visit to the ruins of the Roman Agora, as well as the Pantheon, is a must. The Pantheon is located for the best preserved ancient monument of Rome, which initially functioned as a pagan temple and later as a Christian temple. Today it functions as a cultural site and includes the tombs of Kings Vittorio Emmanuele II and Umberto I. Finally, Rome has large squares that are worth visiting. Such are Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Navona.

Italian cuisine is one of the most popular cuisines in the world. The local cuisine is famous for its pasta and pizza of course, while it is based on fresh local products. A restaurant serving authentic Italian dishes can be found on each corner. For dessert, do not forget to try authentic Italian ice cream in many flavors and tiramisu. As a street food option, choose a panini, which is an authentic Italian sandwich, or a piece of pizza. Of course, you could not leave Rome without enjoying a cup of espresso in his hometown.

Rome has a lively nightlife, with many options for a night out. Throughout the city center you will find countless bars and pubs with relaxing music to start your night, as well as clubs or discos for the rest of your night. The music choices vary from mainstream, pop, rock and house, depending on your preferences. If you want an alternative proposal for your evening, visit one of the town squares, which at night turn into a huge open-air bar. The areas around Piazza Navona, Campo De Fiori, Trastevere, San Lorenzo and Testaccio / Ostiense are the ideal options for your evening excursions.

Paris is the capital of France and one of the largest cities in the world. The city of light, as its nickname is, is located in the north of France. The Seine River divides Paris into two unequal banks, the right and the left. The history of the city is long, and has played an important role in the development of arts and sciences worldwide. Today Paris is one of the most important economic and cultural centers in the world, while the city receives thousands of visitors annually.

Paris first appears in the middle of the 3rd century, when it evolved from a Celtic settlement and retained the name “Lutetia”. In 360 he was renamed Paris, while in 486 Chlodovicus became the first king of France. During the Middle Ages, natural disasters and famines occurred in Paris and the construction of great sights began. such as the Notre Dame de Paris in 1163 and the Louvre Museum in 1210. In the 16th century, in Paris, the arts developed and great artists worked, whose works shaped the art world worldwide. In 1889 the Eiffel Tower was inaugurated, as a tribute to the 100 years since the French Revolution. During World War II, Paris was conquered by the Germans but suffered little damage, thanks to General Dietrich von Choltitz, who, enchanted by the beauties of Paris, disobeyed Hitler’s orders and did not destroy the city. From the end of World War II until today, Paris has experienced incredible growth, making it one of the most developed cities in the world.

No matter how many days you visit Paris, it is not enough to see all the sights of the city. Initially the emblem of the city is none other than the Eiffel Tower. Gustave Eiffel built the tower as a temporary presentation for the 1889 World’s Fair, but it remained in the city permanently. In fact, at first the Parisians did not like the Tower at all and did not want it to stay. Today, of course, it is an integral part of Paris. Today, thousands of visitors line up to climb the tower and admire the view of the city from above. The second largest attraction is the Louvre Museum, which houses 35,000 exhibits from prehistory to the 21st century. There are the Victory of Samothrace, Aphrodite of Milos, the Mona Lisa and Egyptian deities. For art lovers, the Orsay Museum features masterpieces by French Impressionists such as Monet Van Gogh, Cézanne, Manet, Renoir and many others. The Cathedral of Paris, the famous “Notre Dame de Paris” is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture and dates back to 1163. The building is imposing at 35 meters high and decorated with magnificent sculptures, and can accommodate up to 6,000 pilgrims. In addition, the Arc de Triomphe is another attraction worth visiting. It is located in the center of Place de l’Etoile, and from there you can visit the famous Champs-Elysees. The Arch was an order of Napoleon in honor of his army for the victory at Austerlitz, while the French army led by Charles De Gaulle paraded from the same spot after the liberation of the city from the Germans. For the most romantic is the area of Montmartre. Where you will meet bohemian artists presenting their creations in the squares, the legendary Moulin Rouge Theater, as well as Amelie’s romantic cafe. At the highest point of Montmartre is the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, which is an impressive Romanesque-Byzantine church and began to be built in 1876. The view of the entire city of Paris is truly stunning from this point. A short distance from Paris, you can visit Versailles, home to the golden palace of Louis and Marie Antoinette. Finally, for those who want to feel like a child again, the Disneyland theme park offers pleasant moments for young and old.

French cuisine is world famous for its flavors. In fact, UNESCO has included French gastronomy in the world cultural heritage. It was developed in the 14th century by Gaillaume Tirel and since then it has evolved and is still gaining loyal followers. The most famous dishes of French cuisine are the onion soup, Cassoulet, which is duck meat accompanied by beans, fish soup bouillabaisse, ratatouille, rooster wine, tartare, quiche lorraine, snail and many frogs. France is also famous for its French cheeses, its fluffy desserts, but also its French wines. In Paris there are many restaurants serving local cuisine. If you prefer something more international, you will find countless choices of Asian, Arabic
